Cheney Stadium Renovation - Tacoma, WA

Owner: City of Tacoma Department of Public Works
Architect: Belay Architecture, LLC / Populous
General Contractor: Mortenson Construction
Completion: Spring 2011

Project Description:

This fast-tracked project had a total schedule duration of only 210 days to complete, from the Rainiers' final home game Sept. 2, 2010 to substantial completion on April 1, 2011. The renovation added a 3-story structure to house suites and gathering rooms. Mission Glass was relied upon extensively to get the building closed in and protected from the elements so the project could finish on schedule. We installed Trifab 451 Thermally-Improved storefronts, 8400 Single Hung Windows, and 350 Entrance Doors; all by Kawneer. The install included a custom-designed hinged panel system for the media booths that the Owner requested. The in-house ingenuity and capabilities at Mission Glass successfully created a one-of-a-kind panel system that had assisted opening and closing features, as well as integrated into a standard storefront system.
