Project Description

Common Use Lounge - SeaTac Airport

Architect: Patano + Hafermann Architects

General Contractor: PCL

Completion: Spring 2012

What a great place to take a seat and relax! This renovation of the existing common use lounge area was designed completely in-house utilizing 3-dimensional software that assisted in ensuring the rigorous port structural standards were met while still allowing the aesthetic design to shine through in the existing structure. The entire system was designed utilizing CRL’s stainless steel base shoe and all glass entrance door hardware. The most eye-catching part of this project was the 3/4″ thick glazing supplied by Goldray. This unique “marsh grass” etched pattern was applied to PPG’s ultra-clear Starphire glass that can only be described as stunning. Due to the strict timeline on this project and the custom nature of the etched glazing, we even had to pick the glass up right from the tarmac off of the air freight carrier that delivered the glass out of Canada. This project was unique in every aspect and is one we are glad to have been a part of.
