Project Description

Architect: Integrus Architecture

General Contractor: Kassel & Associates

Completion: Spring 2016

The Mercer Island School district has approved this project to expand on the existing middle school by adding 14 new classrooms and lab spaces, common and cafeteria, gymnasium, music rooms, and administrative space. The expansion is intended to help alleviate the stress of an increasing number of enrollments that are expected to happen in the coming years and provide ample space to prevent overcrowding of classrooms as these new students arrive. The project itself utilizes EFCO 5600 series curtain walls and their thermally-broken storefront systems in both a 4-1/2″ and 6-1/2″ depth; all of which will incorporate Guardian’s high-performing SN-68 low emissivity coating to reduce energy loads. This will be the first time Mission Glass has had the opportunity to work in the Mercer Island area. We are excited to expand our increasing coverage area and the opportunity to deliver another high-quality school to this growing area of Washington.
