What a view! The new Tioga Library renovation at the University of Washington Tacoma Campus provides a backdrop that can only be found in the Northwest, overlooking Commencement Bay to the east and lined by a silhouette of the Cascade Mountains. Installation included custom-painted full-height curtain wall systems along with windows and storefronts that made this a project that is sure to turn heads. Portions of the curtain wall were infilled with aluminum backpans to provide a seamless profile. The exterior cladding system also included a terra cotta tile system with varying tones to provide added interest. Glazing systems installed on the project included Kawneer 1600 Curtain Wall, 8225 Windows, and 6″ Trifab, all set with Solarban60 low-e glazing. The interior also included an all-glass handrail system utilizing Blumcraft custom base shoe top rails.
