Located within the Northgate Mall complex in Seattle, WA, the Kraken Community Iceplex is a tribute to the Northwest Region's commitment to hockey as a continuing part of their professional sports enthusiasm. The state-of-the-art complex serves as a hub for both youth and adults alike, in addition to being the actual training facility for the new NHL expansion team, the Seattle Kraken. There are three NHL regulation ice sheets with room for plenty of spectators and hosting spaces for community events. With the first inaugural season tickets for the Seattle Kraken selling out in record time, this facility will continue to grow the excitement around professional hockey in Seattle for many years to come.

Outside of the general amenities of the facility, Mission Glass, specifically partnered early with BNBuilders to help deliver a comprehensive glazing package to provide high-end and high-performing façade systems throughout the facility. Among the products fabricated and installed by Mission Glass, most notable are the EFCO curtain wall systems that incorporate a simulated wood grain powder coated finish on the vertical sunshades, provided by Architectural Grills & Sunshades (AGS). These provide a warm tone to the exterior and are an homage to the pride of forestry that is evident in the Northwest region due to the abundance of evergreen forests. Mission Glass also partnered with Edify Studios to help deliver a complete scope of work and coordinated delivery of many of the aluminum systems that were provided. We're excited to see if any of our glaziers and ironworkers involved on the project will be setting down their glass cups and giving their best shot at lacing up some freshly tuned ice skates!
