This project was massive in scale, with the primary curtainwall facade fully suspended 45' above ground level and spanning 43' in height and nearly 500' in length! Typical glazing units also hovered around the 500 lb. mark, requiring an extensive logistics plan due to the weight as well as the unique sloping terrain and preservation of massive existing timber that remained throughout construction.
The project delivery was fully innovative, relying on 3D modeling and coordination as the main point of reference, rather than traditional 2D drawings. This required every aspect of the project team to be fully integrated into a 3D model space, which provided early detection of clashes between scopes of work, as well as dialed in the fit-and-finish of the final installation.
With this client being an innovator in the technology sector, expectations were set high for all contractors involved; Mission Glass was able to rise to the occasion to deliver this innovative structure.
