The Campus Center at South Puget Sound Community College involved a complete reconstruction of the existing building in which the existing steel was encapsulated by the new building perimeter, and left exposed to view as a part of the key design element of the new building. Mission Glass installed a wide variety of systems in multiple finishes on both the interior and exterior. Kawneer supplied the aluminum systems that included curtain walls, storefronts, entrance doors, and venting windows. We also installed continuous runs of Construction Specialties perforated sunshades along the second floor and a vertical suspended sunshade near the library.

At several of the office spaces and at the first floor cafe we teamed up with Dorma USA to design and install all glass stacking partition walls that allow an entire glass wall to stack into a corner and provide wide open operating areas when needed. All of the glazing on this project was provided by Hartung and utilized Guardian SNX62/27 coatings on the exterior, along with decorative partition wall glazing at the interior spaces that allowed the installation of custom vinyl graphics overlooking the first floor. We also successfully teamed up with Lacey Glass to provide a custom design and installation for the covered glass canopy systems. This intricate project required a lot of thought and builder-designed elements to provide the final touches that really set the campus center off as a great centerpiece to the growing South Puget Sound Community College.
