The Vancouver Innovation, Technology, and Arts (VITA) Elementary School is the first phase of a future Innovation campus for the city of Vancouver, WA. The building subtly hints at this theme through carefully placed patterns of windows, brick colors, and varying shades of metal panels that have hidden Morse code and binary code messages for students to discover. The site also has a scaled footprint of the solar system that provides constant opportunities for learning and exploration. The overhanging wings of the upper floors and offset geometry of the building nodes creates a unique perspective of the building from all angles.

Mission Glass fabricated and installed all of the exterior and interior glazing systems on the project. Careful coordination with Robertson & Olson and other subcontractors on the project reduced overall delivery timeline by allowing pre-fabrication of most of the storefront windows and curtain wall systems, a delivery method that Mission Glass is a proponent of on any project. VITA Elementary will continue to serve the needs of students in the expanding community of Vancouver and is another great project to add to Mission Glass' growing repertoire of successful deliveries in the South end of Washington.
